Online promo codes
Copy a code or use the extension. Paste it in the store's promo field and check the total. Coupons.com says it adds restrictions when it finds them.
Coupons.com mixes online promo codes, cash back, and printable coupons for in-store use. Those are three different ways to save, and only one of them changes a web order before you pay.
Coupons.com is a long-running savings site. Its homepage says it has helped shoppers since 1998 and describes online codes, cash back, and printable coupons. It also advertises a welcome bonus for people who register, and a browser extension that tests codes at checkout.
That mix matters. A printable coupon is for a cashier. A promo code is for a website field. Cash back is a rebate after an account and a tracked purchase. Using the wrong one at the wrong checkout is why a "coupon from Coupons.com" sometimes appears to fail when the offer was never meant for that cart.
The site says it may earn commissions on purchases. It also says editors test codes and publish restrictions such as minimum spend. Icy Coupons did not repeat those tests. On the review date, the site displayed a user-rating widget of 2.8 out of 5 from 38 reviews. That number is Coupons.com's widget, not an Icy Coupons score.
Pick the type that matches where you are paying.
Copy a code or use the extension. Paste it in the store's promo field and check the total. Coupons.com says it adds restrictions when it finds them.
Coupons.com says cash back needs an account. You activate an offer, shop, and later redeem a balance. It does not replace a code that should cut the price now.
Print at home and scan in store. A store can refuse a printout. That is a grocery-coupon problem, not proof the website code is dead.
The extension is meant to try available codes during online checkout. You can still shop without it by copying one code yourself.
The homepage has advertised a registration bonus. Read the current terms. A bonus for signing up is not a sitewide percent off every store.
Coupons.com groups offers by retailer and category, from grocery and beauty to travel and electronics. Open the store, not only the homepage carousel.
Decide where you will pay. For a website, ignore printable offers and open the store's online codes. For a supermarket, ignore the web promo and check whether that chain accepts the printout. Coupons.com's own help text has said some stores do not take printed coupons, which matches ordinary grocery rules.
If you want cash back, create the account first and activate the offer before you add items. Blocking cookies can stop tracking. Coupons.com also says many stores allow one promo code, and that pairing a code with cash back is the usual stack, not two codes.
Then do the same check you would use on any general coupon site: minimums, excluded brands, and the order summary. A homepage that says codes are tested is a process claim. Your cart is the test that matters.
Coupons.com fits someone who uses both web orders and in-store grocery coupons, and who will keep those workflows apart. It is less useful if you only want a community vote on a price drop. That job is closer to Slickdeals. If you only want a rebate layered on a code, compare the RetailMeNot review.
Icy Coupons read the public site on September 29, 2026. We did not run a checkout test of every offer, and we did not assign a star score. A code, voucher, or reward is only useful if the final total, or the later payout, matches the terms. Read how we review coupon websites and the affiliate disclosure before you treat any savings page as advice.
Coupons.com says shoppers do not pay to use the coupons. Cash back requires an account. A welcome bonus, if offered, has its own rules.
You can often view and copy an online code without treating it as cash back. Cash back and balance tracking are the parts that require registration.
No. Printable coupons are for a participating store checkout. Online orders need a promo code, an automatic discount, or cash back.
No. Even a code the site says it tested can expire, miss a minimum, or exclude the items in your cart. Confirm the retailer's total.
These sites solve a nearby problem. They are not substitutes for one another.
